Weapons Explained!
Punches :Both lead and reverse- The Straight Punch ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. It can intercept almost any attack and is the fastest punch in the C..F.. except for the Straight Blast. Your Elbow about 3 inches away from your lower ribs, the punch comes straight from the centre of your upper body, in a Straight line with only hip movements (Wing Chun Methods of), for use in both close and distance. However for realistic use, the combination of your longest weapons and the primary punches are not just needed but are essential!
- The Straight Blast ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. It is world renowned for its use in “Jeet Kune Do”, however many offsets of this tech have been distorted from the original principle, so be warned. The punch is like a gun motion which activates from the fist, hip & foot. Imagine your feet (ball of foot[back or front leg]) as the trigger or coil and you fist is the bullet that shoots out directly to the opponent from almost any position.
- The Rolling Backfist ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. This comes form concepts of Shaolin Iron Fist, Wing Chun Kuen, Adv. forms of Karate and parts of Shaolin Northern Fist. Using the idea of sticking hands, the back fist comes as a coiled gun movement, which moves in three basic angles and many offsets : horizontal and vertical* (*both ways). The Elbow is three inches away from the lower ribs, flicking outwards from the centre of the body (the “Centreline”). The main idea of the rolling back fist is a double motion movement in which the basic “method” is vertical line leaving the chest to the face and the second a downward facing fist moving from first point of impact down to the groin.
- The Hook Punch ;
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. This comes from Boxing, Karate and JKD. The elbow is three inches away from the lower ribs, coming from the chest, unlike traditional boxing, the hit is a short punch which is never overstretched. The hit moves vertical and diagonal with a small curve.
- The Straight Cross ;
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. This comes from unorthodox Boxing and parts of of Wing Chun. This is not dissimilar from the straight blast (Ref. Straight Blast). The best explanation for this is that the hit is a cross between a hook and a straight punch. So when the punch hits the target the head should go back and to the side in one fluid motion.
- The Upper-cut ;
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. This comes from Boxing, some parts of Karate, Kickboxing, and Savate (French Traditional Martial Arts). This is not dissimilar from the hook punch (Ref. Hook Punch). The elbow is three inches away from the lower ribs, moving upwards or diagonally upwards, into the target. Can also be used as a downwards hook punch.
- The Hammer Fist ;
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. This comes from underground Boxing, Karate, Vale Tudo and Tae Kwon Do. Not dissimilar from the axe kick and Back fist (Ref. Axe Kick & Backfist), except you use your fist as the hammer either vertically or horizontally.
Kicks :Both lead and reverse- The Straight Groin Kick ;
is is a C..F.. Primary weapon. This comes from some parts Karate, basic ‘self defence” methods and is the primary kick for JKD.Knees are slightly bent in an everyday standing position. Unlike others that initiate from the hip, this kick comes from the foot with the hip only activated when fully committed, otherwise used as a feint for a Attack by Combination. - The Side Kick (Stepping/Skip/Run) ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. Once again from Gung Fu and Karate. The kick activates the hip when fully committed as this kick very quickly becomes telescopic using the knife of the foot, the heel of the foot and when necessary the ball of the foot as your tools.
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. Origins in Savate and Gung Fu. The Kick comes from the toes (normal standing position), once again hip activates only when fully committed to avoid telescoping your attack. Using the either the inner sole or outer knife of foot in an archway motion, can also be used in a snap kick motion and as a horizontal kick. Using the Crescent as a feint to change to Axe Kick, Twist Kick etc.
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. Origins in Tae Kwon Do, some traditional Kung Fu. The kick comes from the hip and the toes, turning your leg out slightly, kicking upwards and outwards using the instep or ball of the foot as your tools.
is a C..F.. Secondary weapon. Origins in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu and many others. The kick moves in a semi circle motion, literally hooking your opponent with the back of your leg (hitting with the heel).
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. Origins in ninety percent of martial arts, i.e Karate, Kung Fu, TKD, JKD....... This kick can be used differently for different situations. In close quarters combat, the hip is used in a small motion applying the longest weapon to the shortest target, - The Front Snap/Thrust Kick ;
- The Inside Low Stop Kick ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon. - The Outside Low Stop Kick ;
is a C..F.. Primary weapon.The Axe Kick ;
Elbows, Knees & Headbutts :Both lead and reverse
Parrying :Both lead and reverse
